QU Frosh: Brains vs. Burnouts

During the month of February there were two major drug busts involving Quinnipiac freshmen. The first involved a student expulsion upon discovery of cocaine and marijuana, while the more recent involved 58.4 grams of marijuana!

Why bother pay thousands of dollars to a university when your just looking for room and board so that mommy won't find out about your drug habit? Doesn't make any sense to me.

More shocking than the actual incidents to me; was the favorable response by many.

The QU chronicle wrote up an article about the most recent offender, Peter Moran in which the majority of the responses were to "Free Pete" and legalize marijuana.

One student even questioned why this would be considered newsworthy and thought it shouldn't have appeared in the Chronicle. Are you freckin' kidding me? You aren't some little high school boy who broke curfew. You're supposed to be a man, gaining an education so that you can go out into the real world and make a difference.

Not so much. Instead, we'll break campus policy, break the law, and get caught with over $1,000 of weed. I'm sure none of that makes it newsworthy though huh?

Unless you feel like wasting your parents money at an education you don't really care about, getting arrested, and getting written up in all the local papers for your friends and family to see just how impressive you are...I suggest you spend less time yelling "Free Pete" and more time WISING UP!
