One student gets air lifted to Hartford hospital. The UConn student remains in critical condition after being punched in the head during the infamous, Spring Weekend at UConn.

How ridiculous!! One night of drunken debauchery and stupid fun for some could cost another his life. And why? This student was no different than any of the other students present-- drinking, acting irresponsibly and celebrating the end of the school year.

Black Farmers Play Racial Bias Card

The U.S. Government is offering to pay $50,000 to qualified farmers to settle claims of racial bias.

The settlement, which could cover as many as 80,000 black farmers, is looking to cost the government over one billion dollars!!

The Pigford Case, as it is better known, showed a pattern of discrimination at the U.S. Department of Agriculture(U.S.D.A) against African-American farmers applying for farm loans.

Seriously?? People are getting into car accidents, in the middle of domestic disputes, suffering heart attacks and strokes-- and you're tying up the emergency lines because you're too sloshed to drive home?!

Bailey called New Haven police not just once...but SIX times!!

Sarah Palin recently bashed President Obama's policies and voiced a possibility of her running for president in 2012. Are ya kidding me?!

The small bit of respect I may have retained for Ms. Palin is definitely non-existant now! Publicly attacking the current President of our country simply shows me that you have no class, or sense of respect and common decency whatsoever.

Anyone who knows me is well-aware, I am far from a fan of Sarah Palin! She is under-qualified, overly eager, and lacks any sense of decorum.

The recent volcanic eruption of Eyjafjallajokull in Iceland, is proving to be not only a menace to locals, but also to travelers.

Locals are concerned with what will happen when the much larger volcano, Katla erupts. The volcano's last eruption was in 1918 and it is now overdue, typically erupting every 40 to 80 years.

Meanwhile, many travelers are stranded as travel plans have been disrupted in multiple countries. Airports have reportedly lost 136 million euros or 184 million dollars so far.

CT Death Penalty Debate

The matter of life and death may no longer be in the hands of God. It may no longer be in the hands of the judicial system either. The decision of whether man should live or die may land in the hands of politicians?

There has been much focus on the issue of the death penalty here in CT as of recently. The trial for murder suspect Steven Hayes has brought attention to the issue as sole survivor Dr. William Petit is pushing for the death penalty.

All of the problems could result in the death of the vehicle owners as well as others on the road with them! I think maybe it's time to start doing a more thorough check on the vehicles before releasing them to the public!

Tiger's Return Boosts Ratings...Really??

According to the Nielsen Company, television viewership for the Master's went up 50% this year. Much of this is obviously being credited to Tiger's return. Seriously??

Not to say that a man can't change. And not to say that a man's character should affect the way he is viewed as an athlete. BUT I'm not going to lie, in my mind it does.

Why should Tiger have an increased crowd and viewership after his sex scandal? Why should his lies and  infidelities earn him an even larger paycheck? Doesn't this just tell other athletes that they are basically invincible? Tiger did what he want, when he wanted, with numerous women, lying to those closest to him, and yet he is still earning "superstar" status. Maybe now, more so than before.

Manicure Outranks Motherhood

In Waterbury yesterday, a woman left her toddler in the car while proceeding in to 90s Nails, Tan and Spa to get a manicure. The woman has been arrested and the baby is currently in the custody of DCF.

Only one word is needed as a response to that; WOW! I don't know about you, but i am so fed up with these so-called "parents" who couldn't care less about their kids unless someone is complimenting them about how cute they are.

How many stories have you heard about someone leaving a child or animal in the vehicle and dying from heat stroke? This isn't some unheard of occurence that would be unpredictable. There have been numerous cases of this over the years, yet you decide to gamble and play Russian Roulette with your babies life?

Health Care Reform Takes it's Toll on Tanning

The new health care reform legislation requires that a 10% tax be applied to all indoor tanning sessions.
Many are in an uproar due to the increased cost and possible decline in business.

I am not.

If nothing else this new tax draws attention to the tanning industry. It puts into question the safety of indoor tanning salons.

How Much Blood Has to be Shed?

A local marine was killed while fighting overseas in Afghanistan. He was only 19 years old. How much more blood has to be shed before we put an end to this war? How many more soldiers have to die? How many more families ruined by untimely and unnecessary deaths?

I understand our reasons for initially entering into this war. I also understand how backing down from this "challenge" could make us vulnerable to other attacks. But why can't we find a happy medium?

We are the strongest country, with the greatest resources right at our fingertips and yet we find ourselves obligated to stay in a war that is getting many of our Americans killed.

While, we trust in the Pope to protect our children, we must remember he is just one man. We must not hold him accountable for the sinful acts of others. He is battling many pedophiles and many different instances of child molestation. He is struggling to protect the innocence of those honest priests, while also searching for truth and justice for the children who have become victims.

Our anger has been misplaced upon the Pope.
